I don’t know though, maybe using this old iMac is more trouble than it’s worth. Does that make sense? Would it be weird to go from that version of GarageBand to Logic Pro 9?Įventually I will buy a new Mac (Mac Mini looks like a good option) but I thought it would be good to try to utilize what I already have while I continue to build out my home studio. The iMac has more storage and additional slots for memory that I assume I could fill to get more RAM, so it seems like the better option of the two. My son says Im infected with something so dont want to update my OS until Ive cleaned it up. I havent updated my OS yet and couldnt install the current version of Malwarebytes for Mac. I guess I thought that cleaning up this old iMac, installing Logic Pro, and using it exclusively for music production would be better than trying to do that with my MacBook Pro, which has been my personal computer for almost a decade. Hi, I am on Mac OS 10.9.5 on my MacBook Pro. But I also don’t have huge virtual instrument libraries or anything like that. But it’s very slow, probably because I don’t use external hard drives to lighten the load on the CPU. Prior to attempting to utilize this iMac, I’ve been using GarageBand version 10.3.2 on a mid 2012 MacBook Pro 13 inch running on MacOS Sierra 10.12.6 - mostly as a sketchbook for ideas, not for full-blown production and mixing. Can you elaborate on the headaches that come as a result of the OS and Logic version being unsupported?
